Howard Hanna The Frederick Group To Help Find Homes For Hounds

May 19 Pet Adopt Festival Pairs Top Lehigh Valley Home Sales Team With Sanctuary At Haafsville

Allentown, PA — Howard Hanna The Frederick Group, the Lehigh Valley’s leading real estate firm when it comes to finding homes for humans, is joining forces with the Sanctuary at Haafsville in May to help find homes for pets.

“Howard Hanna’s Homes For Hounds” will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Howard Hanna The Frederick Group offices at 3500 Winchester Road, Allentown. The festival will feature dogs and cats, puppies and kittens from the Sanctuary at Haafsville, Paws 2 Freedom, SOAR — Starting Over Animal Rescue, Brookline Lab Rescue, No Nonsense Neuter, Bow Wow Meow, Duke’s Treats and other vendors and activities.

Micro-chipping for pets will be available for $10 per pet and the festival will feature a number of fun activities for pet lovers of all ages, including caricatures, face-painting, a cake walk, bean bag toss, duck pond, photos with pets and on-site food trucks from Cactus Blue, Stuffed to the Grills and Kona Ice food trucks.

“Our agents specialize in finding homes for humans and we do it very well,” said Wendy Karopoulos, Associate Broker and Director of Agent Development for Howard Hanna The Frederick Group. “We are all pet-lovers and we care just as much about making sure that our four-legged friends find their forever homes, too. This is a fun way to carry on a Howard Hanna corporate tradition of giving back to the community. Stop by, try some of the great food that will be available, play some games and check out these adorable pets.”

There’s no better way to turn a house into a more loving home than to add a pet or two, Karopoulos said.

A portion of all proceeds collected by vendors will be returned to the participating shelters.

“Most everyone today wants shelters to be No-Kill,” said Sanctuary board member Donna Dougherty. “The reality is that No-Kill shelters depend on higher levels of community support due to the costs of keeping animals alive, especially veterinarian bills. Support comes through adoptions, donations, volunteering and attending fundraising events.”

Festival visitors may be able to adopt cats and kittens at the event, however, any puppy or dog adoptions will be processed through the participating organization in coordinating with the adopting individuals or families. Any cat adopted must go home in a cat carrier

On-site raffles will be held throughout the event, including a basket raffle and 50-50 drawing and a raffle for a $100 gift card to Target.
