ABE METRO TOP PLACE FOR EMTs & PARAMEDICS

A new report ranks the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton metro area as the #73 best place in the U.S. for EMTs and paramedics.  A total of 750 cities were analyzed for the report.

The report released this week from the GoodCall data research team of Fort Mill, South Carolina analyzed EMT and paramedic salaries, cost of living and job availability, as well as local amenities, to find out which U.S. cities provide the best backdrop for a career as an emergency medical responder.

The ABE area was included in GoodCall’s top rankings due to competitive emergency responder salaries, as well as affordable housing, attractive amenities and a healthy job market. According to the report, ABE area emergency responders earn an average salary of $36,310 and the area ranked 166 out of 750 for employment attractiveness.

The Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton metro area has the highest ranking in Pennsylvania.

“Emergency medical technicians and paramedics are the first ones to the scene in the event of a medical emergency, and they have one of the most stressful jobs,” says Paul Southerland, Lead Analyst at GoodCall. “Our goal was to identify the places where EMTs and paramedics can make a great living with affordable housing and a comfortable lifestyle.”

The report analyzed a total of 750 cities across the U.S.  The rankings were based on data gathered from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, The U.S. Census Bureau, and job search site Indeed.com.
