Allentown, Pa. — Jeff Wisotzkey, PhD, HCLD, CC joined Health Network Laboratories on Sept. 21, 2015 as Scientific Officer where he will lead the molecular diagnostics division as well as oversee Chemistry/Immunochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Microbiology, Cytogenetics and Toxicology.

“We are very excited to have Jeff join our team where his onboard expertise will help us accelerate the implementation and rollout of novel tests in our molecular diagnostics development pipeline,” said Peter Fisher, MD, president and chief executive officer of Health Network Laboratories. “Jeff will be key to advancing our innovation capabilities as we expand our portfolio of personalized diagnostics that are vital to precision medicine, thereby enabling the targeted selection of appropriate and optimal therapies for an individual patient’s genetic context.”

Wisotzkey was most recently laboratory director and vice president of molecular pathology at Genomind. In that role he was responsible for the creation, development and operation of a pharmacogenetic testing laboratory focused on genetic diagnostics in neuropsychiatry. Prior to that Wisotzkey served as the director of molecular pathology and technical director of laboratory operations for the Central PA Alliance Laboratory (CPAL).

He oversaw referral testing from six regional health systems, providing a suite of services including full service Blood Donor Testing, Chemistry/Immunochemistry, Flow Cytometry, FISH and Molecular Diagnostics.  Wisotzkey has also served as technical director of the Molecular Diagnostics and Research Laboratory at York Hospital where he created and directed the molecular diagnostics laboratory, one of the first molecular labs in the nation to be established in a community-based teaching hospital.

Wisotzkey received his doctoral degree from the University of Houston in molecular biology, and completed postdoctoral training at Pennsylvania State University’s Hershey Medical Center. Wisotzkey is a board certified High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) and Clinical Consultant (CC).
