CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB, FOUNTAIN HILL is looking for volunteers to assist the staff at their Spring Bazaar from 9am-1pm on Friday, June 7. EQUI-LIBRIUM, INC, (EQUINE ASSISTED ACTIVITIES & THERAPIES), Nazareth needs volunteers (ages 14+) to help during five different weeks of half-day Horse Camp. Camp dates are 6/24-28 (ages 4-7); July 15-19 (ages 8-12); August 5-9 (ages 13+), August 12-16 (ages 8-12) August 19-23 (ages 4-7). Training to be a side helper or activity helper will be provided; training sessions are 12:30-3:30pm on 6/8, 7/13, or 8/3. GREATER VALLEY YMCA, Easton is looking for volunteers (adult supervision for ages 15-17) to help with their Annual Firecracker 4-Miler Race from 6-11:30am on Thursday, July 4. Proceeds support youth program scholarships at the Easton/Phillipsburg Branch of Greater Valley YMCA. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville is looking for dedicated volunteers (adult supervision 10-12 years) for the 2019 season. Volunteers may assist with positions including interactive exhibits, conservation activity stations, special events, memberships, marketing, and grounds departments. PHOEBE ALLENTOWN NURSING HOME has summer volunteer opportunities available for youth ages 13 (or finished 7th grade) to 18 to complete their community service hours and have a good time doing it. Take residents for “walks” around campus, help with bingo games, do manicures, one-on-one visits, help transport residents for summer picnics/musicals. ST. LUKE’S UNIVERSITY HEALTH NETWORK, Bethlehem, Quakertown and Warren Campuses need Volunteer Escorts, Patient Advocates and Hospice Volunteers from 8AM-12PM or 12-4PM Monday through Friday. Spend time socializing with and providing comfort items to patients and lending a hand to staff. This opportunity is diverse and very active. STRIVE YOUTH, Allentown will be holding an Entrepreneurship Day at Allen High School from 8:15am-6pm on Saturday, June 1. This program gives teens in grades 8-12 from around the Valley the tools for succeeding as entrepreneurs. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, registration, getting students from one activity to another, giving out lunches, after lunch clean-up, and break-down, etc. The following shifts are available: 11:30am-2:30pm and 2:30-6pm. VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem is recruiting high school students entering 10th,, 11th, or 12th grade for their goLEAD Leadership Program which will take place from 9am-3pm on Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19.
