ALLENTOWN HALLOWEEN PARADE SET FOR OCTOBER 18

The lineup is set for the 2015 Allentown Halloween Parade!  The parade will step-off from the Allentown Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 18 at 2pm.  It will proceed on 17th Street to Hamilton Street and will conclude at Ninth Street.

This year’s parade lineup represents a diverse and exciting showcase of Allentown’s Halloween spirit!  The parade showcases the city’s heroic side with this year’s theme, “Superhero Spectacular.” Several groups and organizations are participating in the parade for the first time, joined by many returning favorites.

The 2015 Allentown Halloween Parade offers an abundance of musical entertainment with 13 youth and adult performing bands.  The Kutztown University Band and the Allentown All-City Band are back again in 2015 in addition to Allentown School District high school and middle school bands.

Performance groups X-CAPE, Small Steps Big Dreams, HALA, and the Parkettes are also participating in this year’s event.

WLEV morning show hosts Scott Evans and Josh Gears will emcee this year’s parade, at the Judges’ Reviewing Stand, located at 12th & Hamilton streets.

“Allentown’s Halloween Parade is an outstanding tradition that showcases our community spirit and variety of talent and creativity right here in the city,” said Lindsay Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director.  “I hope to see many Halloween Superheroes out along the parade route, enjoying the festivities with their families and friends!”

Parade spectators and participants are encouraged to use the Facebook and twitter tag “#hallentownparade” for the event.

Allentown Halloween Parade partners include Youth Education in the Arts, the Hamilton District Main Street program and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The rain date for the parade is Sunday, October 25.
