CAMELOT FOR CHILDREN, Allentown needs volunteers (14+ years) to be Camp Buddies from 8am-3pm for a six-week summer camp from Monday, June 24 to August 2. Volunteers are paired with Camelot children and their siblings to have a great time enjoying the playground, games, crafts, and weekly field trips to a variety of different locations. CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB, Allentown is looking for volunteers from 5-7pm for their Annual Car Show, Tuesday, June 18 (rain date 6/25). Help is needed to escort residents (push wheelchairs when necessary) out of their building and around the visitor parking lot to see the show cars and rock out to the DJ playing the oldies. MORAVIAN HALL SQUARE, Nazareth is looking for volunteers (14+ years) to help from 7am-8pm with a Rock-a-Thon celebrating June 21, the longest day of the year. Twelve (12) rocking chairs will be placed on Moravian Hall’s front porch with the goal of keeping them rocking all day long. Volunteers are needed to help in the Food Court, participate in rocking (1 hour at least), sponsor a rocker ($5 per hour suggested),or join the Support Squad assisting with various duties. OLD FREEMANSBURG ASSOCIATION received a grant to continue restoration work on the historic Lockhouse #44 on the Lehigh Canal, Freemansburg. Volunteers (16+ years) are needed to demolish current flooring on first floor, replace floor joists, and lay a new subfloor, repair plaster on first floor walls, and paint first floor walls. PHOEBE ALLENTOWN NURSING HOME has summer volunteer opportunities available for youth ages 13 (or finished 7th grade) to 18 to complete their community service hours and have a good time doing it. Take residents for “walks” around campus, help with bingo games, do manicures, one-on-one visits, or help transport residents for summer picnics/musicals. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, INC., Orefield needs volunteers (18+ years) to be Ranch Camp Counselors for the week of June 24 from 8:45am-2:30PM. Camp counselors will guide campers (2nd grade-12th grade) in activities that include: horsemanship, donkey cart rides, alpaca-felting, scavenger hunts, learn about care/feeding of animals, shadow a real veterinarian, etc. Call Kathryn Gress, 610-398-2122, gressranch@gmail.com.

 

THE SANCTUARY AT HAAFSVILLE, Breinigsville needs help to maintain the animal shelter grounds and buildings.  Tasks would include lawn mowing, weed and hedge trimming, grounds and parking lot maintenance, and general repair of fencing/building, etc.  Please join us in giving back to these wonderful animals by helping with facility’s needs. THIRD STREET ALLIANCE, Easton is looking for volunteers to help revamp their courtyard on Wednesday, June 12 from 9am-noon. This is a peaceful area that their residents, staff, and children like to visit.
