ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION, Allentown needs a volunteer to do weekly gardening: to donate, plant flowers, and weed their Gateway Center entrance. This person should be a self-starter who will bring all needed tools, maintain trees/shrubs, and weed weekly. A volunteer is also needed to stain their gazebo. EQUI-LIBRIUM, INC, (EQUINE ASSISTED ACTIVITIES & THERAPIES), Nazareth needs volunteers (ages 14+) to help during three weeks of half-day Horse Camp. Camp dates/camper ages are August 5-9 (ages 13+), August 12-16 (ages 8-12), and August 19-23 (students 4-7). MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown needs grocery shoppers, especially in Lehigh County area. Shopper picks up order from customer service at designated store, shops for items listed, and delivers them to client’s home. Flexible scheduling and training dates. NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem has volunteer opportunities with their Digital Choice Food Pantry. They need volunteers to enter inventory into their grocery database, stock shelves, and distribute orders to guests on a regular basis (daily, weekly, or monthly) from 9am-noon, weekdays. NCC CENTER FOR COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS, Bethlehem (Fowler Southside Center) seeks volunteers for possible future openings as volunteer classroom aides in Adult Basic Education, GED test prep, and English as a Second Language classrooms. PHOEBE HEALTH CARE CENTER, Allentown needs individuals/families/group volunteers (age 13+ or entering 8th grade) to help transport residents to/from their rooms before/after a Pool Party on July 25, a Summer Picnic on 8/7, and a Summer Concert on 8/24. THE SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN’S SERVICES, Allentown is looking for volunteers to join their Events Committee to plan various events throughout the year, help with prep, and attend the actual events.
