Conference Returns to Lehigh County After 78 Years

(Allentown, PA)- On Monday, July 22nd Lehigh County will officially welcome the Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers (PSACC) Conference for the first time in 78 years.

The PSACC Conference is an annual gathering of Pennsylvania controllers which consists of educational seminars and tours of prominent locations within the host county.

Controllers, deputy controllers and their solicitors attend multiple lessons on everything from improving their auditing to lessons on fraud and abuse.

This year’s conference will feature a special presentation by an F.B.I. official on the recent investigation into Allentown.  The lesson is designed to optimize local controllers’ ability to spot potential illegal activity.

The event’s roughly 100 participants will also be given a first-hand view of the Lehigh Valley’s many social offerings.  Those in attendance will tour downtown Allentown, go to an IronPigs game and be given a welcome bag with items from prominent local merchants.

“This is a huge opportunity for Lehigh County, and the Lehigh Valley, to host this conference.  We have one of the highest attendances in recent history, and a chance to demonstrate all of our region’s assets.

Attendants will be exposed to all of the exciting new development as well as vital learning experiences that will make us all more effective in our roles,” said Glenn Eckhart, Lehigh County Controller.

29 of the state’s 38 controllers will be in attendance.  The conference will last from Monday, July 22nd, 2019 to Thursday, July 25th, 2019.
