Michael Slack Named KidsPeace President and Chief Executive Officer

SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (July 31, 2019) – The KidsPeace National Board of Directors announced today that it has unanimously selected Michael Slack, MBA to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization, effective immediately.  Mr. Slack has been interim President/CEO since March 2019, following the retirement of William Isemann.

Founded in 1882, KidsPeace is a private non-profit provider of mental and behavioral health services to children and adults.  The organization operates a variety of programs ranging from in-patient hospitalization and residential treatment facilities to outpatient and community-based programs to foster care and other family support services.  KidsPeace has offices in eight states and accepts residential treatment referrals from 33 states and the District of Columbia.  In 2018 the organization served 9,865 clients and had revenue of $126 million.

Mr. Slack joined KidsPeace in 2001 as director of business development, and has served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in his tenure. Prior to his appointment as interim President/CEO he was KidsPeace’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all KidsPeace behavioral and healthcare programming and operations. Mr. Slack holds a BS/BA degree from the University of Delaware and a MBA in Health Care Administration from Temple University. He lives in Weisenberg Township, PA.

In announcing the decision, KidsPeace Board of Directors Chair Dr. Scott Reines said, “Following a nationwide search, our Board is delighted to have selected Mike Slack unanimously to lead the KidsPeace organization into the future. We are confident that Mike will provide leadership that is both steady and visionary, as KidsPeace continues to help our clients meet their own challenges and find success in life.”
