The local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals welcomes to the Lehigh Valley, internationally recognized expert Simone Joyaux.
Macungie, PA – The Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-EP) in partnership with the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) presents Unraveling Philanthropy: A Workshop and Talkback Session with Simone Joyaux on September 25, 2019. The two unique events will be held at Historic Hotel Bethlehem; the workshop from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and keynote session from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The morning class, “Creating Your Next Fund Development Plan,” will focus on building processes that ensures accountability among the staff and the board. Attendees will learn how the right plan and comprehensive content can produce valuable learning and change. The evening keynote, considered a “talkback” session, is titled “Changing Your Organization to Produce Greater Impact,” and will follow an open format with Simone leading a challenging and engaging conversation about the importance of impact.
“When the opportunity presented itself to bring Simone to the Lehigh Valley, we jumped at the chance,” revealed Andrew Block, President of the Board of Directors for AFP-EP. “My nonprofit fundraising peers from the Lehigh Valley and beyond are poised to learn from Simone’s expertise and to use it to improve and streamline their organizations.”
Internationally known, Simone Joyaux is often referred to as “one of the nonprofit sector’s most thoughtful, inspirational, and provocative leaders.” She was one of the first fundraising professionals to receive the credential of Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) in 1994. The certification is only accomplished through a rigorous peer-review process that demonstrates an advanced level of fundraising knowledge and professional competency. She lives her life following the belief that philanthropy is both a job and a way of life.
