What lies ahead this month at Parkland:
9/12 – Cetronia Elementary Outdoor Classroom Ribbon Cutting, 9 AM (rain date:  9/13 at 9 AM)
9/14 – Get Prepared Parkland

9/14 – Parkland Volleyball Clothing Drive

9/14 – the start of Dorney Park Discount Coupons – $23 for admission through October 27th
9/21 – Wellness Symposium – Sign up for sessions at the link on the bottom of the flyer
9/24 – New Teacher Reception at the School Board Meeting

9/25 – Safe Bus Driver Picnic – recognizing outstanding bus drivers from the past school year at OMS under the party tent

Continental Breakfast from 9:30 – 10:30, Dignitaries and awards from 10:30 to 11:15, Lunch served from 11:15– 1:30

9/27 – Foundation Tailgate, 7pm at Orefield stadium

9/29 – Girls Basketball Golf Tournament at Shepherd Hills Club


Special congratulations to Parkland for receiving the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) Outstanding Visual Arts Community 2019 Award for their outstanding commitment to visual arts education this past week. PAEA empowers its members to transform their practices, students, colleagues, and communities to build a strong art education culture and citizenry.

Districts receiving this endorsement demonstrate the importance of their visual arts programs with:

  • Rigorous and Inclusive Programs: Arts programs demonstrate rigor using standards-based curriculum taught at every level by highly qualified and certified arts educators.
  • Highly Accessible Programs: Art programs are offered to all studentsat every level of education with a sustainable budget for the visual arts.
  • Highly Visible Programs: Schools and districts identify their programmatic accomplishments, curriculum for all levels, art staff, mission statements, and arts events using their school websites and social media.
