2019 OSCAR WINNING MOVIE AT STEVENS PARK

The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation closes out its 2019 Movies in the Park series on Saturday, September 14 with the showing of “Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse” at Stevens Park, located at 6th and Tilghman streets.  The approximately 117-minute movie is rated PG and will begin at dusk (approximately 7:45pm).

The movie stars Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Halie Steinfeld and Mahershala Ali.

“Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse” was the winner of numerous awards including the 2019 Oscar for Best Animated Feature and the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Animated.

“Teen Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) becomes the Spider-Man of this reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.”

The movie will be preceded by various activities presented by the Jordan Heights Neighborhood Association and Community Action Development Corporation of Allentown. The Play Street event will take place from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and includes a DJ, arts and crafts, popcorn, cotton candy and refreshments.

The rain date is Sunday, September 15.
