Dimmick Park in Hellertown, PA. Join us in kicking off the holiday season with a fun-filled evening that is sure to make Light Up Night bigger and better than ever!

The evening’s schedule is jam-packed with family activities and people of all ages! From caroling to dance performances, live music and holiday movies, the holiday spirit will be felt in Dimmick Park. New in 2019 will be the Ice Carving Demonstration, cash pony rides and a live reindeer display!

Free children’s activities with local nonprofits and businesses, as well as cash wagon rides, will be ongoing throughout the evening. In addition, free hot chocolate and cider, apples and cookies will be available to participants! A holiday craft market will be hosted in Dewey Fire Company’s Social Hall featuring local vendors, just in time for the holiday season and food will be available to purchase provided by the Hellertown Lions Club, Take a Taco Food truck, RK Mobile Foods, Local Mama’s Catering, The Bees Knees Bakery, Uncle Paul’s Stuffed Pretzels, Cosmic Kettle Corn and Couchpota Doh Food Truck (with 10% of proceeds benefitting our community). There will be local non-profits setup outside, offering some type of children’s activity to make the event extra jolly! The Valley Voice will be distributing song booklets, while supplies last. The Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber will be handing out over 600 Holiday Shopping Booklets with coupons from local businesses, as they encourage people to #shoplocal #supportsmall for the holiday season.

The Tree Lighting will commence with Santa’s arrival on a Dewey Fire Company, Ron Smith truck at 7:00 PM, followed by pictures with Santa at 7:10 PM and a special giveaway for reach child.

Entertainment will be provided by Saucon Valley Girl Scouts, En Avant School of Dance, Saucon Valley High School Choir, Saucon Valley Dance Conservatory, Saucon Valley High School Band and the Saucon Valley Karate Academy.

Jessica O’Donnell, EVP of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber mentioned, “last year we saw well over 4,000 people in attendance. This year we are expecting even more in attendance with the new additions of the live reindeer, ice carving demonstration and added performances.”

“This event is truly one of my favorites for the community! Every year we try to add something new to enhance it and make it even jollier than the last. All of this could not be done without the support of everyone at the Borough of Hellertown, our participants’ day off and all our sponsors.”

“Seeing everyone’s smiling faces, the excitement on the children’s faces and all the community support, makes 6 months of planning and the hard work of the committee all worth it.”

Mayor David Heintzelman mentioned, “We are very thankful for our Chamber and everything they have planned for this evening. Light Up Night is a Hellertown-Lower Saucon favorite and has grown substantially in attendance and activities offered over the last few years in our partnership – we are excited to see what 2019 has in store! Please join us to see the beauty of our community and to ring in the holiday season at this festive event.”
