The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce is proud to kick off the holiday season in Slatington, PA with their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony!

The Chamber will be hosting a fun-filled, family friendly evening in Slatington, starting with Mrs. Claus Story Reading at the Slatington Library from 5-6 PM; children (and the young at heart) are invited to hear some Christmas tales read aloud in the warmth of Slatington’s historic library! Beginning at 6 PM, the festivities will move to Slatington Memorial Park (509 Main Street) where Boy Scout Troop 58 will begin the evening with a pledge to the flag, followed by a choral performance by the Slatington Elementary School Choir!  Rhythm & Soul Dance Studios will also perform at 6:30 PM.

At 7:00 PM, Mayor Niedermeyer and Santa Claus himself will countdown to the lighting of Slatington’s Christmas Tree and the beginning of the holiday season! Those who wish to have their photos taken with Santa may do so following the tree lighting and will be serenaded with Christmas carols in a group sing-a-long.

Complimentary hot dogs will be served by the Boy Scouts and Hot Chocolate and Cookies will be provided as well.

Participants are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to place under the tree for Toys for Tots.

The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce is grateful for their event sponsors: The Neffs National Bank, Keystone Technology LLC, BB&T, Nulton Diagnostic & Treatment Center, Christine K Moscaritolo – State Farm Agent, A F Boyer Hardware & Guns, Bechtel’s Pharmacy, Inc., Mr. Doggy Style Hotdog Shoppe, Dimmich & Dinkelacker & Anewalt, P.C., Country Harvest Family Market, GIANT Food Stores, The Bakery Nook, and Rentschler Auto Dealerships.

For those wishing to continue the fun into the evening, The Shack will be providing a complimentary After Party beginning at 8 PM. Complimentary lite bites will be offered, along with a cash bar.

Kylie Adams, Manager of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber, stated that “Slatington’s Tree Lighting continues to grow and thrive each year, and 2019 is no different! We’re thrilled to have so many community sponsors and participants in this year’s festival – this is certainly an event you do not want to miss!”

“The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber is made up of so many small businesses throughout our footprint and we love opportunities like our Tree Lighting to shine a spotlight on them,” Adams continued. “When we gather as a community to celebrate the season, we should remember that we are stronger when we support one another!”

Christine Moscaritolo, of State Farm, is one of the Chamber’s valued sponsors. Moscaritolo said “The Lehigh Valley has always been a special place to celebrate Christmas!  That’s why I’m excited to sponsor this year’s Tree Lighting event benefiting Toys for Tots.  Getting together with other local businesses to help support the community is one of the reasons I chose Schnecksville as the location for my second agency.”
