SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (January 23, 2020) Dominick DiSalvo, M.A, LPC, Corporate Director of Clinical Services at KidsPeace, has been appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to serve on a task force to study the state’s juvenile justice system.

Over the next year, task force members will assess the state’s juvenile justice system and review data from court and state agencies, gather input from diverse stakeholders, and examine how current practices can better align with research about what works best to improve youth outcomes, according to a news release from the Governor’s Office announcing the appointments.

DiSalvo, of Bedminster Township, is the only representative from a provider of mental and behavioral health services on the 30-member panel named by Wolf January 17th.

“I am looking forward to bringing my experience utilizing evidence-based and data-driven practices to bring systematic change and improve the overall experience for youth and families,” DiSalvo said. “We need to partner with youth and their families along their journey of hope, help, and healing to achieve the ultimate goal of improving the long term outcomes for youth, families, and our communities.”

Creation of the task force in partnership with the Pew Charitable Trusts was announced by Governor Wolf in December 2019. The task force is charged with delivering a report on its recommendations for juvenile justice reform in Pennsylvania by November 30, 2020.
