AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, Bethlehem needsdrivers to take patients to and from their cancer treatment appointments. You can volunteer a few hours a week or a month and drive patients locally or long distances. Need to be at least 18 years of age, clear background check, good driving record, proof of insurance, reliable vehicle, access to a computer/laptop/ iPad and internet access. CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB, Allentown Each Thursday morning 9:30-11:30 we are having a high-spirited sing-a-long with our residents.  We need more volunteers to assist our residents in getting to the activity room, pushing wheelchairs when needed and just to sing along to popular old songs with everyone in the room to keep the fun times happening.  We need several volunteers, so this is a great opportunity for friends, spouses, co-workers, or groups.  Minimum age is 13 years old.  All volunteers over 17 years old will need a PA Criminal Background Clearance, which is provided by Cedarbrook. LEHIGH VALLEY HEALTH NETWORK, Bethlehem is looking for people to be friendly visitors in seniors’ homes/apartments; the clients have been diagnosed with dementia but are still living on their own. You will receive training and then be placed with a client requesting the service. Visits will be for 1-2 hours at a time and include engaging in conversation, doing a puzzle, playing a game, watching and talking about a television show. LCCC CENTER FOR CAREER PATHWAYS, Allentown needs Tutors for adult students in our GED and ESL programs in Allentown, for Math, Language Arts, Science Social Studies and Writing. Tutors work with students a minimum of 3 hours a week. A Bachelor’s degree and clearances are required for all tutors.

LEHIGH COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS will be offering a required training class to become a certified golf coach. There are eight practice sessions in this golf program. Must be available for Eastern Sectionals and Summer Games at Penn State; date TBD. Location & start date of golf program to be announced. Volunteer registration and background check is required. Practices include learning the golf terms, types of clubs, and how they are used. Exercises include how to chip, putt and drive. STEPHEN’S PLACE, Bethlehem will need several persons to assist with the gardening, yard work and basic outside maintenance of our facility.
