GOOD SHEPHERD REHABILITATION NETWORK is spearheading a social media effort – dubbed #PicturesForPatients – that encourages kids and adults to draw, color or paint pictures for Good Shepherd’s adult and pediatric patients and long-term care residents in Allentown and Bethlehem. The goal is to increase positivity and uplift others in this time of uncertainty – plus, give an added boost to the doctors, nurses, therapists and other health-care professionals as they walk through the halls or into rooms. Here are instructions on how you can send pictures: https://www.goodshepherdrehab.org/news/pictures-for-patients/

LEHIGH VALLEY HEALTH NETWORK is calling all artists, young & old, to help cheer up hospitalize patients who are not permitted visitors by creating (nondenominational) inspirational get-well cards and letters. You can also make encouragement or thank you cards for the hardworking staff & clinical workers. Please mail your cards and letters to: LVHN, Volunteer Services, PO Box 689, Allentown, PA 18105

SIXTH STREET SHELTER, Allentown hasbeen at full capacity with all our families staying in since mid-March. Many of them have experienced their well-earned progress put on hold with no end in sight. The families could use a lift in spirits! Help us let them know they’re not alone by writing an inspiring message to a homeless family. To be assigned to a family to write a message to, contact Heather Pritchard, 610-435-1490, hpritchard@caclv.org.

ST. LUKE’S UNIVERISITY HEALTH NETWORK is looking for volunteers to sew face masks for hospital patients and staff. For instructions go to https://bit.ly/SLUHNDonations. Click on the Donate Personal Protective Equipment link. There is information on how to make a reusable mask and where to drop off completed masks.

VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY has created a Covid-19 webpage to house information on volunteering in all forms for local nonprofits. Updates are made to www.volunteerlv.org/covid-19 as they are sent into us. Visit us often to see how you can help!
