PBS39’s In Pursuit of Perfection and Reporter Brittany Sweeney bring home Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy® Awards

 

Bethlehem, PA. – September 21, 2020 – The Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy® Awards gala was held virtually via Facebook Live on Saturday, September 19, 2020. This year, PBS39 brought home awards in the categories of Sports-News Single Story or Series as well as Video Journalist.

 

“I am extremely proud of our entire team as they are increasingly recognized for this important work,” Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of PBS39 said. “We do all of this for our community, and it is a great honor that the Emmy Awards Committee sees the value as well.”

 

In Pursuit of Perfection, is the Cinderella success story of the Bethlehem Catholic Girls Basketball team who PBS39 followed throughout their post season, as they overcame challenges and fought to bring home another PIAA Championship. Team members recognized for this achievement include Javier Diaz, Director/Editor, Eric Werner, Videographer, Jim Deegan, Producer, Anastasia Weckerly, Producer, Tracy Yatsko, Host and Daniel Ray, Videographer/Editor.

 

The evening of recognition continued for Health Reporter Brittany Sweeney, who took home the award for Video Journalist. The team was nominated for a total of 12 Emmys this year.

 

“We are so fortunate to have Brittany’s passion and talent on our team,” Yoni Greenbaum, Chief Content Officer at PBS39 said. “She has been vital in sharing the stories of many of our community and establishing a presence for herself as our health reporter, especially through the pandemic. This recognition of her contributions to our industry is well-deserved.”
