UNIVEST HOSTS ANNUAL $5,000 CARING FOR COMMUNITY GIVEAWAY

November 30, 2020 – Univest Financial is hosting its ninth annual Caring for Community Giveaway* which will award a $5,000 donation to a local, nonprofit organization. Univest is asking the public to help determine which local nonprofit deserves financial support.

How the giveaway works:

  • Individuals may nominate a local, nonprofit organization by:
    • Submitting the name of the nonprofit in the comment section of the post promoting the Caring for Community Giveaway on Univest’s Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.
    • Tweeting the name of a nonprofit to @UnivestCorp using #CaringForCommunity
  • Each comment or Tweet counts as one entry. An individual may submit one entry per day, per voting method.
  • The winning nonprofit will be randomly selected from all entries.
  • Entries for the giveaway will be accepted from Tuesday, December 1, 2020 through Thursday, December 31, 2020. To be eligible, the nonprofit organization must be registered as a 501(c)(3) and must operate within Univest’s service area. Complete rules listed at: www.univest.net/caringforcommunity

Previous winners of the Caring for Community Giveaway were Kisses for Kyle Foundation, Quakertown Community Outreach, Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue, Hope Against Heroin, St. Isidore School, the Granny Project, Vets for Vets and Bucks County SPCA.

* OFFICIAL CARING FOR COMMUNITY GIVEAWAY SWEEPSTAKES RULES (the “Rules”): 

  • Eligibility and Sponsor.  NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  Void where prohibited and subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Entries in the Caring for Community Giveaway (the “Sweepstakes”) sponsored by Univest Financial Corporation (“Univest”) may be submitted by any legal resident of the United States who is the age of majority as of date of entry. In order to be eligible, a nominated charity: (a) must have received a determination from the Internal Revenue Service that such charity qualifies as a non-profit entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended; (b) must operate within Univest’s service area defined as: the Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton Philadelphia and York and the New Jersey counties of Atlantic, Burlington, Camden and Cape May; and (c) cannot have been the winner of a prior Caring for Community or similar contest or sweepstakes sponsored by Univest. The Sweepstakes sponsor (the “Sponsor”) is Univest Financial Corporation, 14 North Main Street, Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964.

 

  • Timing and Entries.  The Sweepstakes runs from 12:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 through 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Participants may submit nominations by visiting the Univest Facebook page at www.facebook.com/UnivestFinancial and submitting the name of an eligible charity in the comment section of the post promoting the Sweepstakes, or by visiting the Univest Instagram account @univest_financial and submitting the name of an eligible charity in the comment section of the post promoting the Sweepstakes, or by visiting the Univest LinkedIn page at https://www.linkedin.com/company/univest and submitting the name of an eligible charity in the comment section of the post promoting the Sweepstakes, or by tweeting the name of an eligible charity to @UnivestCorp using #CaringForCommunity. Only one entry may be submitted by each participant per day, per voting method. If a participant submits an ineligible entry, such ineligible entry will constitute that participant’s limit of one entry per day per the method submitted, and that participant will not be able to submit another entry in the sweepstakes using that method until the next day. If a participant initially submits an eligible entry, every entry thereafter during the same day using the same method will be disqualified. One winning charity will be selected by Univest randomly on Monday, January 4, 2021 out of all eligible entries collectively received on the Univest Facebook page, the Univest Instagram account, the Univest LinkedIn page and the Univest Twitter profile (the “Winner”).

 

  • Prize and Odds of Winning.  The Winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize (the “Prize”). Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received on the Univest Facebook page, the Univest Instagram account, and the Univest Twitter profile. The Winner will be contacted via phone. In the event that a Winner cannot be reached and/or does not respond to Univest by 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, January 8, 2021, it shall be deemed to have forfeited the Prize and another Winner will be selected at random from all other eligible entries received. Univest is not responsible for the charity’s availability or non-responsiveness. Univest reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any charity if it determines that awarding the Prize to such charity might reflect negatively on Univest’s image and/or reputation. Univest reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the Sweepstakes at any time. The decisions of the Sponsor shall be final and binding with respect to all matters related to this Sweepstakes.

 

  • Limitations.  None of Univest, its subsidiaries or affiliates, nor any of  their  officers,  directors, shareholders,  employees, agents or representatives (individually and collectively, “Releasees”) are responsible for: ineligible entries; entries that are altered, delayed, deleted, destroyed, forged, fraudulent, improperly accessed, inaccurate, incomplete, interrupted, irregular in any way, late, lost, misrouted, multiple, non-delivered, stolen, tampered with, unauthorized, unintelligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, internet service provider, website or other connections; miscommunications; failed computer, telephone or cable transmissions, lines or technical failure; failed phone, computer hardware or software, failures, technical errors or difficulties; telephone transmissions; technical failures; unauthorized human intervention; garbled or jumbled transmissions; or other errors of any kind, whether due to electronic, human, mechanical, printing, production or technical errors or other causes; even if caused by the negligence of any of the Releasees.

 

  • Conditions.  By entering the Sweepstakes and/or accepting the Prize, a participant and/or Winner agrees, represents and warrants that: (a) such participant and/or Winner has all rights, permissions and consents necessary to grant the rights to the Sponsor as expressed herein; (b) such participant and/or Winner will abide by and be bound by the Rules, the Sponsor’s and any applicable terms of use (“TOU”); (c) each entry becomes solely the Sponsor’s property and will not be acknowledged or returned; (d) each of such participant and Winner releases, indemnifies and holds harmless the Releasees, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter from any and all liability for claims, injuries, losses or damages of any kind, resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the awarding, delivery, acceptance, use, misuse, possession, loss or misdirection of any Prize or participation in the Sweepstakes or any Sweepstakes-related activity; (e) the Prize is awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT WARRANTY  OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose), and the Releasees do not make any representation, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, relating to the Sweepstakes or the Prize; (f) the acceptance of a Prize constitutes the grant to Sponsor and Sponsor’s subsidiaries and affiliates of an unconditional right and permission to use Winner’s name, address, likeness, and Prize information and/or statements (verbal and written) about the Sweepstakes for any publicity, advertising, promotional and other purposes throughout the universe in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, without compensation, except where prohibited by law, and Winner hereby releases the Releasees from any claims or liability arising out of or with respect to such use; (g) in the event viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, Acts of God, acts or regulations of any governmental or supra-national authority, war, national emergency, accident, fire, riot, strikes, lock-outs, industrial disputes, acts of terrorism or other matters beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control, corrupt, prevent or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Sweepstakes, so that it cannot be conducted as originally planned, except where prohibited by law, Sponsor has the right, in its sole discretion, to modify the Rules or to cancel, modify, terminate or suspend the Sweepstakes; and in such event, to select Winner by such method as Sponsor in its sole discretion shall consider equitable; (h) the Releasees are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of the Sweepstakes, including but not limited to errors in the advertising, Rules and selection and announcement of the Winner and distribution of the Prize; (i) any portion of a Prize not accepted or used by a Winner will be forfeited; (j) the Releasees are not responsible for any inability of a Winner to accept or use a Prize (or any portion thereof) for any reason; (k) the Sponsor has the right, at any time and at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it suspects to be doing any of the following: (i) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes; (ii) violating the Rules; (iii) violating the TOU, or other terms, conditions of use and/or general rules or guidelines of any Sweepstakes property or service; (iv) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person or (v) for any other good cause as determined solely by the Sponsor; (l) all disputes, claims and causes of action at law or in equity (individually, “Claim”) arising out of or relating to the Sweepstakes, the meaning or interpretation of the Rules or any Prize awarded shall be resolved by applying the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of laws provisions therein, and shall be solely and exclusively brought in the state or federal courts within Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; (m) all Claims shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (n) all Claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event include attorneys’ and legal fees, and under no circumstances will any Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses and waives all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; (o) Sponsor has the right to modify Prize award procedures at its sole discretion; and (p) the Prize cannot be sold or transferred. The award of the Prize is subject to the Winner’s acknowledgment and agreement that it is bound by these Rules and evidence of Winner’s status as a non-profit entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal revenue Code of 1986, as amended, and the Winner and its representatives may also be subject to the execution and delivery of a publicity release in the form presented by Univest. The Sweepstakes is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

 

  • Taxes.  All taxes (including, without limitation, U.S. federal, state and local taxes (including, but not limited to income and withholding taxes) and sales taxes) on or connected with any Prize, and the reporting consequences thereof, and any other expenses not specifically included in the Prize description are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the Winner. All taxes are solely the responsibility of the Winner.

 

  • Privacy.  Information provided by you for the Sweepstakes is subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy located at www.univest.net/privacy-policy. Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes consent to the transfer of personal information to the United States for purposes of administration of the Sweepstakes and for such other purposes as you may consent.

 

  • Rules and Winner Identification. For the identity of the Winner (after January 4, 2021) and/or a copy of the Rules (before December 31, 2020), send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Caring for Community Giveaway, Winner/Rules, c/o Univest Financial Corporation, 14 North Main Street, P.O.
