ALLENTOWN AREA ECUMENICAL FOOD BANK is looking for volunteers to assist as needed in the food bank any weekday from 9 to 12. Bilingual Spanish speaking volunteers also needed. Masks and other COVID-19 protocols are followed. Contact Anne Egan, 610-433-6373, anne.egan@allentownfoodbank.org.

 

INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LEHIGH VALLEY provides 24/7 door through door ride service for seniors aged 60 and over and visually impaired adults to any destination in the Lehigh Valley. We need volunteer drivers to help us with the increasing demand for rides. All rides in Lehigh Valley only. Drive when and where you want. No minimum hours required. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Nov-Mar) and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Apr-Oct). We offer long & short-term volunteer opportunities for those (minimum age 13) interested in wildlife conservation. Masks and other COVID-19 protocols will be followed. MARVINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, Bethlehem is a community school committed to connecting families and community resources with each other. We would like for someone to help with creating a user-friendly website with specific resources using a free domain that will be then accessible to families through a link on the Bethlehem School District website. All links for the resources as well as descriptions will be provided. This opportunity will be completely virtual and will be ongoing until the project is completed. NATIONAL MUSEUM OF INDUSTRIAL HISTORY, Bethlehem is seeking Gallery Guides that will engage with visitors to provide a welcome/orientation, answer questions and oversee the visitor experience in our indoor and outdoor exhibit spaces. Also, as a Docent, volunteers will have the chance to deepen your knowledge of our rich industrial heritage and share it with visitors by leading guided tours of our indoor and outdoor exhibit spaces. NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem – Please join us to make POPPIES OF REMEMBRANCE /LANTERNS OF HOPE kits for a new community fundraiser in partnership with Musikfest. Meet at the Visitor Center at SteelStacks, Ruins Parking Lot 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 6/7, 6/8, 6/21, 6/22, OR 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on 6/7, 6/8. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs of sand unassisted to fill bags and place candles. Kit making will be held outdoors under a tent, rain or shine. Social distancing and face masks will be required. PROJECT OF EASTON needs Pantry Assistants 9 a.m. to 12 noon Monday and Thursday to help pack bags of food for distribution, stock shelves, carry items from trucks to pantry, weigh and put away donations, and participate in food distribution.
