Scott Nier, PT, MA, has rejoined Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network as the site manager of Good Shepherd Physical Therapy – Kutztown.

Nier returns to Good Shepherd to lead a team of board-certified therapists at the 15260 Kutztown Road location, providing personalized physical rehabilitation care for adults recovering from injury, illness or surgery, as well people who live with chronic conditions.

With more than 30 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist, Nier has successfully treated sports and orthopedic injuries, joint replacements and pain management. Between 2008 and 2019, Nier worked at Good Shepherd in a variety of clinical, strategic and leadership roles.

“I am committed to having our patients reach their recovery goals by helping them understand their challenges and encouraging them to actively participate in their recovery or in managing their chronic condition,” Nier said. “It’s our goal to maximize our patients’ function and to do this in a positive, upbeat environment.”

Nier received a bachelor’s in physical therapy from the University of Connecticut, where he was a four-year varsity letterman in football. He later received his master’s in exercise physiology from Adelphi University. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

The Good Shepherd Physical Therapy – Kutztown team provides rehabilitation programs for a number of diagnoses, including back and neck pain, work injuries, headaches, chronic pain, stroke and more. Services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy in a warm-water pool, neurorehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, occupational health and more. About Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit rehabilitation leader committed to transforming lives through expertise, innovation and compassion.

Good Shepherd provides an exceptional patient experience for all ages and stages by developing leading-edge solutions, often for complex medical situations; serving as a test site for the newest rehabilitation technologies; and inspiring hope in all we do.

Good Shepherd traces its pioneering spirit for innovation and compassionate care to its founding family, The Rev. John “Papa” Raker and D. Estella “Mama” Raker. In 1908, the Rakers opened the Good Shepherd Home to care for children with disabilities and senior citizens, filling an unmet community need — and setting the stage for Good Shepherd’s continued growth as a rehabilitation groundbreaker.

Headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Good Shepherd also partners with Penn Medicine to provide rehabilitation and specialty services in the greater Philadelphia area and New Jersey through Good Shepherd Penn Partners.
