AIDSNET, Bethlehem needs community members & professionals (lawyer, CPA, clergy, physician, etc.) who live in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton or Schuylkill County to join our board of directors and help oversee our organization’s mission of building healthier communities by planning and funding HIV/AIDS Care and Prevention Services in those six counties. ALLENTOWN EVANGELICAL WESLEYAN CHURCH needs strong volunteers (individuals or a group of 5) for food distribution on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:30 to approximately 11:00 am. AMERICAN RED CROSS PA RIVERS CHAPTER, Allentown is looking for volunteers to share Armed Forces information with military families who recently had a family member enlist, and acquire a working knowledge of local, state and federal resources aiding military members, families and veterans. Must have skills with a computer, telephone, and interviewing, be able to work with culturally diverse populations, and ability to work with or without supervision. NAZARETH CENTER FOR THE ARTS needs volunteers (minimum age 14 with adult) for Northampton County Fall Festival for one-hour shifts 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 16, to greet people and assist with children’s mini pumpkin decorating activity. NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem seeks volunteers to prepare for Luminaria Night 2021 from 3-5:30 p.m. on October 13, 14, 19, 20,21, 26, 27, 28. We need to assemble 10,000 luminaria kits. Each kit will consist of ten paper bags, ten candles, and one large Ziplock bag of sand. We will take individuals or groups. Minimum age 15 (or 12 with adult). SHARECARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem needs many volunteers to help with taking non-Covid-19 clients to their vital appointments. All volunteers will have to attend on-line orientation, provide criminal background check and proof of insurance. THE CENTER FOR ANIMAL HEALTH & WELFARE, Easton is looking for many volunteers to serve in many areas. Minimum age 16 (12-15 must have parent); younger than 12 can read to a dog or cat through our Friends of Fred Reading Program. You must be 18 or older to walk a dog on your own. Opportunities include dog walking and enrichment, cleaning and care, table attendant for offsite events, dog handler for offsite events, grounds and maintenance help, cat and dog foster, cat enrichment/grooming, transport.
