The sun was shining Saturday at Goodman Stadium, a cool breeze could be felt through the air, chilling hands and adding rosy cheeks to spectators. One thing is for certain, the holidays are approaching, if not determined by the weather, then by the football game of the season, arch rivals, Lehigh University vs. Lafayette College.
Both teams took the field highly charged, The Lafayette Leopards kicked off to The Lehigh Mountain Hawks and the annual battle for over a century began. The first quarter went almost scoreless, but at the very end The Mountain Hawks hit the scoreboard first with a touchdown and field goal.
The Leopards were quick to follow, about halfway through the second quarter, The Leopards evened up the score. With a little more than three minutes to go before halftime, The Mountain Hawks got lucky as they picked up on a fumble, scored a touchdown and field goal. The teams took to the locker rooms at halftime with a score of 14-10,
The third quarter remained scoreless, and as the final quarter started, tensions began to mount.  The Mountain Hawks probably played their best game this season, gaining one more field goal and defeating The Panthers with a final score of 17-10.
