Charter Arts Black Student Union to present annual Black Excellence Show

BETHLEHEM, PA– The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Black Student Union will hold its Black Excellence Show on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the school, located at 321 East 3rd Street, Bethlehem.  Prior to the show, guests can enjoy a live fashion exhibit that will be on display in the school’s Corpora Gallery beginning at 6:30 PM.

 

Black Excellence is fully curated and produced by students and is a collection of artistic mediums including uplifting songs, emotional monologues, powerful dance and fashion. This showcase embodies the brilliance, beauty, resilience, and power within the black community.

Student directors include Trinity Jefferson and Bianca Felix. Faculty advisors include Jodi Fowler, Kristen Bruck and Brigham Madden-Cox.

Monetary donations or a donation of a new or gently-used diverse children’s/ young adult book will be accepted at the door. All proceeds will benefit the maintenance of BSU’s Little Free Libraries in Bethlehem and Allentown. Fowler shares, “The students are passionate about providing access to diverse books as they recognize how important representation is, and are proud to help their local communities.”
