Saturday August 20th, 2022 1:00PM to 4:00PM;

Ribbon Cutting at 1:30PM

 2209 W. Main Street Stroudsburg, PA 18360

What started as a small project out of founder Jenae Holtzhafer’s home in 2018, The Kindness Project has quickly grown to serve over 1,100 children across 21 counties in central and eastern PA. Included in that number are over 100 children from the Pocono region. This non-profit provides support to foster families in the area by supplying clothing, furniture and other essential items, free of charge, to children in foster care.

In the spring of 2022, Liz Johnson reached out to express interest in supporting a second branch location to provide more convenience and support to foster families in northeast PA. Her church, Christian Life Assembly, eagerly opted to provide The Kindness Cottage for this important purpose! Now even more families across the northeastern areas of PA will have quick access to free essential items and services as the need to support foster families continues to grow.

“Having helped celebrate the grand opening of their first location in Emmuas just under a year ago, I am so thrilled to see accessibility of their services expand into the Pocono region”, stated Hayden Rinde, Manager of the Pocono Chamber of Commerce. “These foster closets are truly a unique and special experience for children in foster care to be able to choose items of their own, at no cost to their foster parents.”

All are invited to attend the grand opening of their second location this Saturday August 20th from 1:00 to 4:00. The ribbon cutting ceremony will commence promptly at 1:30 to be followed by an afternoon filled with food, fun, tours of the Kindness Cottage and raffle prizes!

The Kindness Project will also be running a ‘Baby Shower Drive during the event, so if you would like to donate any NEW baby-related hygiene item, diapers, baby wipes, formula, burp cloths, teethers, baby toys, etc., that would be a huge help to stock up for all the little babies they see coming into care. Fill a new diaper bag if you want and bring it along!
