Wehrung’s Macungie is ready to celebrate.

A grand opening at Wehrung’s Macungie will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022 at its 3580 Brookside Road Macungie location.

Wehrung’s Macungie is part of a service-oriented, dedicated family of businesses operating for more than 75 years and serving the building industry and DIY home improvement sector throughout the Tri County area.

Since purchasing Dries Do it Center in January, 2021 – the second business acquisition in two years – Wehrung’s Macungie has remained open during a roughly $3 million investment and extensive renovation and restocking process.

“Every aisle of merchandise from new shelving, new product lines and added depth of product lines” has been realized at Wehrung’s Macungie, said Brad Jacobs.

Jacobs is vice president of purchasing at Wehrung’s Family of Businesses and general manager of Wehrung’s Macungie.

Wehrung’s (pronounced WEAR/ings) is known for supplying the professional construction trades as well as DIY homeowners.

From a drive thru warehouse where contractors can pick up orders under cover to state-of-the-art racking systems and fresh, bright retail spaces, Wehrung’s Macungie aims to be a “one stop shop.

“Our product selection and quality – we stock better material because we want better outcomes for our contractors” is unparalleled in the region, Jacobs said.

Wehrung’s Macungie includes:

  • A renovated 35,000 square foot flagship store retail space.
  • A 4,600 square foot space dedicated to kitchen, bath and flooring.
  • Drive-thru contractor customer warehouse with covered storage for lumber and building material supplies pick up.

Employee longevity means staff is able to respond to customer questions and have a deep knowledge base from which to draw. Many have been with Wehrung’s for 15, 20, 30 or more years, Jacobs said.

Relationships are at the core of Wehrung’s mission statement – “To be known as a respectable and high-spirited company devoted to serving God, our customers, our employees, and our community.”

Strong relationships – from customer service to suppliers and vendors enabled Wehrung’s to continue to meet demand throughout pandemic-related supply chain stalls, sputters and stops.

“Being dependable is critical,” Jacobs said.

From small and mid to large contractor projects, home and tract developers and apartment building contractors “we cover it all,” Jacobs said.

Wehrung’s Macungie’s grand opening will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the store’s location: 3580 Brookside Road, Macungie.

Free food, visits from CAT Country 96 FM and 99.9 The Hawk radio DJs, as well as door prizes and activities for kids will be on hand. Visit the website at www.wehrungs.com
