SUMMIT HILL, P.A. – On Tuesday, Congresswoman Susan Wild held her first in-person town hall of 2023 in Summit Hill, Carbon County. Beginning with Girl Scouts presenting the colors and leading the Pledge of Allegiance, Rep. Wild gave a quick update on her work so far this year before delving into questions from town hall attendees.

Rep. Wild listened to concerns and took questions from constituents, on topics ranging from the state of health care in Pennsylvania and concerns about Medicare and Social Security benefits; to issues with local sewer authorities and the process of applying for federal grants; to concerns with land use and an active mine fire in the area.

Tuesday’s town hall is Rep. Wild’s first to take place in Carbon County, following redistricting that changed the lines of Pennsylvania’s 7th to include Carbon at the start of 2023 – and part of a series of visits Rep. Wild has made to the county, including to the Lehighton Police Department, to hear from her new constituents about how she can best serve them.
