BETHLEHEM, PA–  At its June 8, 2023 meeting, the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Christina Lincoln as the school’s new Executive Director & CEO beginning July 1, 2023.

Dr. Lincoln joins the school leadership team after serving as the Director of Education at Northampton Community College for the past eight years, and previously as an Associate Professor of Education for eight years.  Lincoln’s post secondary education began at Penn State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education followed by a Masters of Education from East Stroudsburg University and doctoral work leading to her Ed. D in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Leadership from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

School Board President, Mario Acerra, shares: “The Board is delighted to welcome Dr. Lincoln. She has a great deal of experience in the “Art as a Way of Learning” educational approach, whereby students can use the arts to express knowledge, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. She is a perfect fit for our school.”

Lincoln’s appointment comes as the school celebrates its twentieth anniversary as one of the most respected high schools for the arts in the nation.  Diane LaBelle, who retired from the school in 2020, returned for the 2022-2023 school year to serve as Interim Executive Director & CEO through June 30, 2023.
