NEW TRIPOLI –  In his continuing effort to educate older residents about the latest scams and how to protect themselves, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh) is co-hosting a “$cam Jam” event on Thursday, March 28, in Trexlertown. The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Good Will Fire Company No. 1, 7723 Hamilton Blvd.

“Seniors are frequent targets of these scammers, who come up with new ways to steal their hard-earned money all the time,” said Mackenzie. “$cam Jam is a fun way to learn how to avoid becoming a victim.”

Mackenzie is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and AARP  to present the event, which will feature Fraud Bingo, an interactive way to learn about common scams and other schemes. Light refreshments will be offered.

Reservations are required and can be made online at RepMackenzie.com/events or by calling Mackenzie’s Northwestern Lehigh office at 610-760-7082.
