State Rep. Jeanne McNeill will host a senior scam prevention presentation from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, May 29 in the Catasauqua Middle School Auditorium located at Bridge and Fairview streets (850 Pine St.) in Catasauqua.

“Unfortunately, seniors are the target of many scams,” McNeill said. “Scams targeting seniors caused over $3.4 billion in losses last year, which was an increase of approximately 11% from the year prior. Additionally, the average victim of elder fraud lost $33,915 due to these crimes in 2023. This is why events like this are important and is why I try to host them regularly.”

David Shallcross, director of senior protection at the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office will give a presentation to senior citizens on how to avoid scams. Following the presentation there will be a Q&A session where those attending can have their questions answered.

More information is available by calling McNeill’s district office at 610-266-1273.
