Ten Jefferson Health Hospitals Earn an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
New grades for spring 2025 are a national recognition for commitment to patient safety
May 1, 2025 – Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital, Jefferson Methodist Hospital, Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital, Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Dickson City, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono, and Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill each earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade.
Jefferson Washington Township Hospital has earned an “A” grade for the sixth consecutive cycle, and Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital has earned an “A” grade for the eighth consecutive time. Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks earned an “A” grade for the fourth consecutive cycle and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono obtained an “A” grade for the third time in a row.

Jefferson Stratford Hospital, Jefferson Abington Hospital, Jefferson Bucks Hospital, Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg earned a “B” grade.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent, national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
