EASTON, Pa., (July 8, 2025) – The Center for Animal Health & Welfare (CAHW), a life-saving adoption facility dedicated to finding permanent homes for homeless pets, announced today that it will be partnering with ProJeCt of Easton (ProJeCt) to relocate its pet food pantry to ProJeCt of Easton’s Food Pantry.
Since 2022, CAHW has held pet food bank days twice per month at its second location Project PAW in Downtown Easton. Project PAW, which housed a thrift store and cat café, closed at the end of June as CAHW looks to realign its resources to best serve its mission and to better support community pet parents.
CAHW will hold one last food bank day at Project PAW on July 12. Beginning July 23, the
organization will begin distributing pet food and litter at ProJeCt’s Food Pantry located at 330 Ferry Street in Easton, Pa. It will operate at this location on the second and last Wednesday of each month from 10am-12pm.
According to Rose LoPiccolo, Executive Director at The Center for Animal Health & Welfare,
keeping pets in their homes is just as important to CAHW’s mission as finding forever homes for
the cats and dogs in its care.
“Many community members depend on us to help feed their pets. We are grateful that we can
continue to support them through our partnership with ProJeCt, an organization with an
extensive history of providing collaborate services to the community,” said LoPiccolo.
“In line with our vision of building a better community, ProJeCt of Easton is proud to partner with CAHW to address yet another barrier faced by those we serve – caring for their beloved pets. We recognize the critical role CAHW plays in ensuring pet owners have access to essential pet food, easing one more source of stress for families,” said Kim Checkeye, Executive Director, ProJeCt of Easton.
In addition to its pet food pantry, CAHW will be announcing additional no-cost and low-cost services for pet parents soon.
