Allentown, PA — October 24 — Community Action Lehigh Valley is proud to announce that it has received a grant from the PPL Foundation to support its Generation Next program, which helps local high school students build leadership skills, explore career opportunities, and achieve educational success.

Generation Next equips young people with the tools and confidence to pursue their goals while addressing barriers to racial and ethnic equity in education. Through mentorship, hands-on learning, and exposure to professional pathways, the program empowers

students—particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds—to envision and create a successful future for themselves and their communities.

“The support from the PPL Foundation will allow us to deepen our impact and continue

fostering equity through education,” said Dawn Godshall, CEO of Community Action Lehigh Valley. “Generation Next helps students discover their potential and take the next step

toward their dreams. We’re grateful to PPL for investing in the future of our young leaders.”

The PPL Foundation supports programs that improve the lives and well-being of people throughout the communities served by PPL Electric Utilities.

“PPL is proud to partner with Community Action Lehigh Valley in their efforts to empower students.” said Lissette Santana, Director of External Affairs and President of the PPL

Foundation. “By working together, we can help young people reach their full potential and strengthen our communities for generations to come.”

Generation Next currently operates in multiple Lehigh Valley high schools, engaging juniors and seniors through workshops, college and career readiness programs, and mentorship opportunities. The program is part of Community Action Lehigh Valley’s broader commitment to equity, education, and economic opportunity.
