4 DAYS OF MIND-MELTING ANIMATION AT THE HISTORIC ROXY THEATRE

October 23, 2025 – Open World Animation Festival 2025 takes place November 6-9 at the Historic Roxy Theatre in Northampton! This 4-day celebration of cutting-edge animation from across the planet showcases over 150 films from 36 countries!

Open World 2025 features everything from family-friendly Saturday Morning Cartoons to Horror-themed blocks, showcases of independent Iranian animation, Student films, Virtual Reality animation and MORE!

Each block is just 5 DOLLARS admission! Day Passes and All Access Passes also available.

Open World Animation Festival encourages creators to explore the frontiers of animation through both traditional and emerging mediums. Its missions is to help general audiences understand the artistry in animation and its diversity of subject matter. It aims to showcase many voices, styles, & perspectives. Anyone is welcome to take part!

  • The 2025 festival features a special block of “Animated Documentary Shorts” curated by Animator Amy Lee Ketchum, former Chair of PAFTA’s Animation Department.
  • There are NINE Virtual Reality animated films which will be on display via VR headsets.
  • Films will be competing for cash prizes and awards!
  • Filmmakers & animators will be in attendance throughout the festival, some traveling from around the World!
  • Saturday Morning Cartoons block contains retro commercials & surprises!
  • The Lehigh Valley’s ONLY animation festival!
  • Festival is completely run by volunteers.

The Alternative Gallery is a Non-Profit (501-c3) organization founded in 2012 in Allentown, PA and is run 100% through volunteerism. Our mission is to strengthen local communities through arts, culture & education and build relationships with other communities around the world. Located in Allentown, PA, The Alternative Gallery is housed in the Cigar Factory Artist Studios; providing exhibit & performance spaces, over 40 artist studios, retail spaces, classrooms, a fine art printshop, darkroom, urban garden, film archive & more.
