Cruising Into Your Neighborhood November 15th Lightly-Salted Productions Unleashes Route 22 Rampage on the Atari 2600

ALLENTOWN, PA — Lightly-Salted Productions announces the release of Route 22 Rampage, a brand-new, action-packed driving game for the Atari 2600. Designed and coded entirely in 6502 assembly, this 16 KB retro-modern title brings fresh adrenaline to classic hardware, challenging players to survive the chaos of Pennsylvania’s legendary Route 22.

A New Kind of Traffic Jam
Route 22 Rampage challenges players to set the fastest time possible as they navigate multiple lanes of chaotic traffic. Race past Tower 22 five times to complete your run—all while dodging potholes, weaving through traffic, and avoiding collisions across shifting city and industrial landscapes, each rendered with authentic Atari 2600 flair.

Players can fine-tune the challenge with several optional modes, including Pothole Mode, Damage On/Off for added realism, and No Parked Cars for a cleaner course. And when things get tight, you can honk your horn—it might just convince traffic to move.

Revving Up Nostalgia
“One of the reasons I created an Atari 2600 game is because I wanted to learn more about computers at a low level,” said Matthew Blum, creator and founder of Lightly-Salted Productions. “I thought, what better way than by exploring one of the earliest gaming systems ever made? The limitations of the hardware force you to think creatively. Every single byte counts.”

Availability
Route 22 Rampage launches November 15, 2025, and is playable online at https://lightly-salted.com/r22r.
For collectors, a limited run of cartridges—complete with case and full-color artwork—is available for purchase directly through the Lightly-Salted Productions web store and select local retailers.
