“A Hallmark-like experience,” “The jolliest day,” “A magical family holiday experience”—these are just a few of the ways past guests have described the Emmaus Old-Fashioned Christmas. The Emmaus Main Street Partners are delighted to host the Old-Fashioned Christmas, presented by Lehigh Valley Martial Arts, again this year on Saturday, December 6th, 2025.
“For more than two decades, Emmaus has been the heart of our Lehigh Valley Martial Arts family. Being the presenting sponsor of Old-Fashioned Christmas is our way of celebrating the traditions, values, and sense of togetherness that make this town so special,” shared Dana Elderidge, Chief Visionary Officer of Lehigh Valley Martial Arts.
To begin the day, visitors can enjoy two unique trail experiences designed to showcase the businesses and holiday spirit of Emmaus. The Cheers Trail, running from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, invites guests 21 and over to sip and shop their way through the borough, visiting more than 10 stops including the Emmaus Historical Society, Café 23, Yergey Brewing, All Little Things, Don Juan Mex Grill, Purr Haus, and more. Tickets for this festive experience are $35 before November 30th and $45 thereafter. More information can be found here.
Candy Cane Lane, running from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, is geared toward families and children, offering a free trail adventure. Participating businesses such as Swine Design and Lehigh Valley Martial Arts are transforming into mini Santa workshops, giving children the chance to create holiday crafts. Guests can warm up from the trails and enjoy a classic holiday tradition at the Emmaus Theatre, where a free showing of The Polar Express will begin at 3:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item in lieu of ticket purchase. Sponsored by Jeff McElhaney of Edward Jones, all donations will be contributed to the East Penn Feeding Program, supported by the Emmaus Rotary, and Groceries Plus in Emmaus. A second showing will be offered after the Tree Lighting at 7:15 PM.
As the sun sets, Emmaus Triangle Park will come alive with holiday magic from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Non-profits will offer kids’ activities, local school choirs will fill the air with festive melodies, and a new Grand Hot Chocolate Stand, hosted by Let’s Go Coffee Co., will offer seasonal drinks perfect for the chilly evening. Guests seeking dinner or handheld festive bites can visit two new food trucks—The Chicken Trolley and Race to Taste Curbside Grill—joining Emmaus’s beloved local eateries, including Café 23, along with the many restaurants and shops downtown.
Santa Claus will make his grand entrance with the help of Dance Fusion at 5:00 PM, ready to greet children and take free photos. This experience is made possible by AI Orthodontics, E.F. Butz Agency, Active Learning Centers – Emmaus, Wehrung’s and Service Electric, in partnership with Wesley Works. Adding to the festive spirit, Santa’s reindeer will also be on-site, courtesy of County Pest Solutions and First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union.
Jessica O’Donnell-Gower, Executive Vice President of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber stated, “This event is a beautiful reminder of how strong and connected Emmaus is. Our businesses, partners, and volunteers come together year after year to create a day full of joy and tradition for families. It’s an honor to help bring this holiday magic to our community.”
The celebration will culminate with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7:00 PM officially kicking off the holiday season in Emmaus. Whether exploring the Cheers Trail or making memories at Triangle Park, Emmaus offers something special for everyone this holiday season.
