January 5, 2026 — Allentown City Council voted this evening to elect new Council leadership and swear in members during its organizational meeting. Council members unanimously elected Santo Napoli as City Council President and Cynthia Mota as City Council Vice President.
“I’m honored to work alongside City Council Vice President Cynthia Mota,” said Council President Santo Napoli. “I won’t let you down. I’m looking forward to collaborating with my colleagues on City Council and getting to work for the people of Allentown.”
In addition, four Council members were officially sworn in to serve new terms:
- Cynthia Mota, beginning her fifth term on Council
- Jeremy Binder, newly elected Council member
- Natalie Santos, beginning her second term on Council
- Christian Pungo, newly elected Council member
Council leadership and members reaffirmed their commitment to serving Allentown residents through transparent governance, collaboration, and community engagement.
