Nonprofit Organizations Invited to Submit Projects for Annual Volunteer Challenge
Allentown, PA (January 2026) —Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley (VCLV) is proud to announce the 17th Annual Volunteer Challenge, its signature community impact and fundraising event that mobilizes corporate volunteers to strengthen nonprofit organizations across the Lehigh Valley.
Each year, the Volunteer Challenge connects businesses, employees, and nonprofit partners through high-impact, team-based service projects that address real community needs. Since its launch in 2010, the Volunteer Challenge has engaged 112 businesses who have supported 156 unique nonprofit organizations and the completion of 359 sustainable projects. This is called IMPACT!
Volunteer Center is inviting nonprofit organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley to submit their Challenge projects that offer hands-on, skills-based, or team volunteer opportunities by January 23, 2026. Nonprofit organizations seeking additional information about the 17th Annual Volunteer Challenge, including how to submit a project proposal, can visit www.volunteerlv.org/volunteer-challenge.
Businesses interested in participating are encouraged to attend an informational Zoom session on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., to learn more about how the Volunteer Challenge builds employee engagement while creating measurable community impact. Info for the session can be found here: www.volunteerlv.org/volunteer-challenge.
This year’s Volunteer Challenge Honorary Chairs are Jody King (CBRE) and Jim Vozar (JVI), longtime champions of the Volunteer Challenge and whose leadership reflects the spirit and impact of the Challenge.
“The Volunteer Challenge is more than a fundraiser—it’s a powerful model for how businesses can support local nonprofits through the completion of Challenge projects. said Karen Smith, CEO, Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. “Each project represents an investment of people, skills and resources that directly impact our nonprofit community and the people that are served.”
