This March, Wildlands Conservancy is offering 5 Community & Education Adventures, all of which are free to the public (online registration for our March events will open as of Monday, February 16):
- Two Wildlife Adventures: Let’s Meet & Greet Wildlands’ Wildlife Ambassadors at Trexler Nature Preserve and/or join our Animal Tracking 101 guided hike at Minsi Lake Wilderness Area.
- Join this opportunity for observing Wildlands’ Woodcock & Grouse Field Study at Thomas Darling Preserve in Blakeslee;
- Let’s celebrate this year’s International Day of Forests – join our Black River BioBlitz at Franko Park;
- Welcome long-awaited Spring with our Spring Equinox Forest Bathing for Wellness and Recovery at Trexler Nature Preserve.
Finally, registration for Wildlands’ Summer Camp 2026 opens Monday, February 16. Families may choose among 11 weeks of summer fun, from June 8 through August 18, at our 77.5-acre Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary. Those who register before April 1 will receive a 10% discount.

Wildlands Conservancy – Animal Tracking 101 – 1:00PM – 3:00PM EDT at Minsi Lake Wilderness Area- West Shore Access, 49 Blue Mountain Dr. Bangor, PA 18013. Learn how to identify and interpret animal tracks, scat, and other signs left behind in nature. This beginner-friendly program will teach you the basics of tracking common local species and how to read the stories that these signs tell about animal behavior and habitat. Wildlands Conservancy – Woodcock & Grouse Field Study – 9:00AM – 11:00AM EDT, we’ll meet at the Blakeslee Wawa, 296 PA-940, Blakeslee, PA 18610. This special 2-hour program offers exclusive access to our Thomas Darling Preserve where Wildlands is actively restoring healthy, diverse forests that support an array of wildlife, especially species that rely on strong ground and shrub habitats, like the American Woodcock and Pennsylvania’s state bird, the Ruffed Grouse. Wildlands Conservancy – Spring Equinox Forest Bathing for Wellness and Recovery – 1:00PM – 4:00PM EDT at Trexler Nature Preserve- Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville, PA 18078. Led by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Stacey Vinci, you’ll slow down, quiet the mind, and engage your senses through gentle, intentional activities inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku (“forest bathing”).
