Wildlands Conservancy – Community & Educational Calendar of Events for April 2026 and Summer Camp 2026: Be an Early Bird – register before April 1!
This April, Wildlands Conservancy is offering 7 Community & Education Adventures, five of which are free to the public (online registration for our April events will open as of Monday, March 16):
- Two opportunities for PreK Pathfinders: Bunny Tales at Trexler Nature Preserve and Habitat Heroes celebrating Earth Day at Wayne A. Grube Park;
- Two nature hikes: Get Out! For Wellness at Nockamixon State Park and Tree Identification Hike at Franko Park;
- Our Beginner’s Guide to Camping at Wy-Hit-Tuk Park;
- Our Spring Peeper Sound Study at South Mountain Preserve;
- Our popular Bloodroot Trail Challenge, in celebration of Earth Day, at South Mountain Preserve.
Also, registration for Wildlands’ Summer Camp 2026 is open and those who register before April 1 will receive a 10% discount! Families may choose among 11 weeks of summer fun, from June 8 through August 18, at our 77.5-acre Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary.

Wildlands Conservancy – PreK Pathfinders: Bunny Tales – 10:00am – 11:00am at Trexler Nature Preserve – Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville, PA 18078. PreK Pathfinders is for children ages 3-5 and their grown-ups. Hop into spring with our furry friends! Discover the unique adaptations of rabbits before heading outside for a joyful, non-competitive egg hunt. Afterward, return indoors to transform your found eggs into charming woodland creatures. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! For Wellness: Nockamixon State Park – 10:00am – 12:30pm at Elephant Trailhead, Lake Nockamixon State Park, Elephant Rd, Perkasie, PA 18944. Explore Nockamixon’s Elephant Trail, a mostly level 4-mile hike along the lake shore. Wildlands Conservancy – Beginners Guide to Camping – 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Wy-Hit-Tuk Park, 510 PA-611, Williams Township, PA 18042 – Northampton. Join Wildlands Conservancy for a fun and educational Daytime Campout! Learn how to pitch a tent, build a safe campfire, & other basics you need to enjoy the great outdoors. Wildlands Conservancy – Tree ID Hike – 10:00am – 12:00pm at Franko Park, 1339 Black River Rd., Allentown, PA 18103. Join Wildlands Conservancy and Andrew Conboy from the Community Canopy Project for a guided Tree ID Hike at Black River Sanctuary. Join us for a family-friendly sunset hike through Wildlands Conservancy’s South Mountain Preserve, where we’ll listen and look for spring peepers, salamanders, and other signs of spring awakening in the woods. Wildlands Conservancy – Bloodroot Trail Challenge – 9:00am – 2:00pm at South Mountain Preserve- Boroline Park/Alpine St Entrance, 554 Alpine St, Emmaus, PA 18049. In celebration of Earth Day, reconnect with nature by taking on the Blood Root Trail Challenge! Choose your own experience—hike, bike, or run on your own, or join us for a guided group hike and discover the beauty of this scenic trail together.
