A Shoutout to Congressman Ryan Mackenzie for Supporting PA’s Cement Industry
On behalf of the cement plant workers in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, we write to express our sincere gratitude to Representative Ryan Mackenzie for his steadfast support of our industry. We deeply appreciate that Congressman Mackenzie recently sent a letter to President Trump asking him to issue an Executive Order to bolster the nation’s cement industry.
Our district is home to four cement plants. Cement manufacturers throughout the state contribute nearly $5 billion to the state’s economy and directly and indirectly employ more than 6,000 people. These are good-paying jobs that support families, sustain local businesses, and strengthen our communities.
Representative Mackenzie correctly notes that cement is not merely a commodity — it is critical to infrastructure and national security, as it is used to construct roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and military installations.
We ask the President to heed Congressman Mackenzie’s call. Federal recognition of cement as a critical material, paired with policies that reduce regulatory obstacles and incentivize domestic production, would deliver lasting benefits — not just to our plants and our workers, but to all Americans, who depend daily on safe, reliable infrastructure.
We are grateful for the Congressman’s support, and we stand ready to work alongside him to build an even stronger future for American cement.
