Pinebrook Family Answers Appoints Kathleen Trimble as Chief Executive Officer

Trimble has been a key member of Pinebrook’s leadership team for more than 13 years.

Lehigh Valley, PA – April 9, 2026, – The Board of Directors of Pinebrook Family Answers is proud to announce the appointment of Kathleen Trimble as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Trimble has been a key member of Pinebrook’s leadership team for more than 13 years, beginning her tenure as Director of Development and assuming increasing responsibility over time, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, she has strengthened organizational systems, supported program growth, and helped ensure that Pinebrook’s services remain responsive, trauma‑informed, and community‑centered. A graduate of Lehigh University, Trimble entered the nonprofit sector after owning and operating Duggan Resources, LLC, a search and placement firm specializing in finance and investment banking. A resident of the Lehigh Valley for more than 30 years and an active community leader, she has served as Interim CEO since January. Her steady leadership, deep institutional knowledge, and strong commitment to Pinebrook’s mission have positioned the organization for continued stability and growth during a time of transition.

“Kathy is the right leader for this moment and for our future,” said Jane Brooks, Chair of the Pinebrook Family Answers Board of Directors. “Her compassion, integrity, and experience in nonprofits make her uniquely equipped to guide our staff, support our clients, and carry forward the mission that has defined Pinebrook for almost 50 years.”

This leadership transition comes at a meaningful moment for Pinebrook. Earlier this year, the organization experienced the unexpected loss of its CEO, Mike Shaffer, whose decades of service and unwavering dedication shaped Pinebrook’s mission and impact. His legacy of compassion, integrity, and commitment to strengthening families continues to guide the organization forward.

“I am honored to serve Pinebrook Family Answers in this role,” said Trimble. “Our staff, partners, and supporters are extraordinary, and together we will continue to provide the compassionate, high‑quality services that children, adults, and families across the Lehigh Valley rely on. Mike’s legacy of dedication and heart will remain a guiding force as we move forward.”

Under Trimble’s leadership, Pinebrook Family Answers will continue to expand its mental health counseling, family support programs, youth services, and community‑based initiatives, with a focus on accessibility, resilience, and long‑term impact.
