Lehigh Valley Publisher Celebrates 50 books in Five Years

EASTON, Pa.— What started as a project for the faculty art show at Northampton Community College 10 years ago has grown into a full-service traditional publishing, editorial services, and self-publishing support company here in the Lehigh Valley…

Parisian Phoenix Publishing, founded officially in 2021 by print journalist Angel R. Ackerman and graphic designer and adjunct instructor at NCC Gayle Hendricks, will celebrate its 50th official release May 20. That’s 50 books in 5 years.

Parisian Phoenix will release Absolution, the fifth novel in Ackerman’s Fashion and Fiends series, which she bills as “horror with a woman’s touch.” The series features supernatural creatures interfering in the high fashion universe. While many scenes occur in Paris and more exotic locales around the globe, the series begins in a weekend house in Upper Mount Bethel Township. The characters spend time in Easton, Bethlehem, and even Portland, Pa.

Parisian Phoenix has books in stores in nine states (Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania), and has authors in several more (Arizona, Florida, and Washington among them). Parisian Phoenix has placed books in or hosted events at 43 different stores throughout the country (including six different Barnes & Noble locations).

Parisian Phoenix has several imprints: Parisian Phoenix (fiction, nonficton and poetry), Parisian Phoenix Kittens (children’s), Parisian Phoenix Kink (erotica and ‘adult’ themes) and Independent Birds (self-publishing support).
