{"id":100265,"date":"2020-03-16T21:56:23","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T01:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=100265"},"modified":"2020-03-16T21:56:23","modified_gmt":"2020-03-17T01:56:23","slug":"allentown-city-hall-remains-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=100265","title":{"rendered":"ALLENTOWN CITY HALL REMAINS OPEN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Allentown municipal government buildings remain open for the general public to conduct business with the city however, the public is urged to conduct as much of that business as possible on-line or through the mail.<\/p>\n<p>The city is establishing a new first floor makeshift customer service area at City Hall and other offices to try to maintain the CDC\u2019s recommended six feet social distancing to slow the spread of Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>The city strongly encourages people to use the Penn Street drop box or U.S. Mail to mail in all city payments.\u00a0 Those persons who discarded or misplaced their tax envelopes may contact the Finance Department at 610-437-7506 and another envelope will be mailed to them.\u00a0 For those who must make payments in person, the first-floor treasury window will remain open.<\/p>\n<p>Persons with business on other City Hall floors will be asked to drop-off permit applications and other documents at the makeshift customer service area for review.\u00a0 City staff will either answer questions on the spot or a staff member will respond by phone or email.<\/p>\n<p>Similar makeshift customer service areas will be set-up at Bridgeworks and the Parks Department office.<\/p>\n<p>The following service changes are in effect at the Allentown Health Bureau\u2026<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All childhood and adult immunization appointments and low risk Tuberculosis screenings are cancelled and will resume after Easter.<\/li>\n<li>All requests for home-based needs are being evaluated on a case by case basis<\/li>\n<li>Women with breast health issues will be assisted however routine screenings have been suspended.<\/li>\n<li>All educational programming in the community has been cancelled.<\/li>\n<li>Sexually Transmitted Disease screenings for symptomatic patients and treatment for STDs will be done by appointment only.<\/li>\n<li>License expiration dates will be extended as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The fire department is restricting access to city fire stations.\u00a0 Fire station tours and the department\u2019s ride along program have been suspended.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Information provided to TVL by:<br \/>\nMike Moore<br \/>\nCommunications Manager<br \/>\nMayor&#8217;s Office<br \/>\n435 Hamilton Street<br \/>\nAllentown, PA 18101<br \/>\nMike.Moore@allentownpa.gov<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/www.AllentownPA.gov<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><code class=\"code\">-AMAZONPOLLY-ONLYWORDS-START-<\/code><br \/>\n<div class='adkingprobanner sidebar banner3023'><a href='http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/' target=\"_blank\" data-id='3023' data-ga='{\"campaign\":\"\",\"banner\":\"\",\"implemented\":\"universal\",\"imp_action\":\"Impression\",\"click_action\":\"Click\"}'><img src='https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/inpostblank.jpg' alt='' \/><\/a><\/div>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='adkingprobanner sidebar banner7036'><a href='http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com' target=\"_blank\" data-id='7036' data-ga='{\"campaign\":\"\",\"banner\":\"\",\"implemented\":\"universal\",\"imp_action\":\"Impression\",\"click_action\":\"Click\"}'><img src='https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/inpostblank.jpg' alt='' \/><\/a><\/div>\n<code class=\"code\">-AMAZONPOLLY-ONLYWORDS-END-<\/code><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&hellip;
