Now, with the onset of the coronavirus crisis, KidsPeace is devoting more resources to <strong><em>TeenCentral.com <\/em><\/strong>to provide support for young people as they deal with the unprecedented pressure and stress caused by the global pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong><em>TeenCentral.com <\/em><\/strong>is a service we\u2019ve provided for more than two decades, but now may be the time when it\u2019s the most needed,\u201d says Michael Slack, KidsPeace president and CEO. \u201cSo many of our kids don\u2019t have their friends or social supports available to them, with social distancing and school closures as a result of COVID-19. We want these young people to know there\u2019s a place with people who want to help them with the stress and emotions they\u2019re feeling as they work on getting through this crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>TeenCentral.com <\/em><\/strong>offers teens and young people a \u201csafe space\u201d to investigate and ask questions about mental health and coping strategies. Visitors to the site can submit a question or describe an issue in their lives, and get a \u201chandcrafted\u201d answer from a trained clinical professional posted to the site within 24 hours. All stories and therapeutic responses submitted over the past several months can be viewed on the site.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>TeenCentral.com <\/em><\/strong>also offers information on a range of subjects \u2013 from anxiety to depression to relationships to spirituality \u2013 and a collection of self-help resources and tools to help visitors practice good mental and emotional health.<\/p>\n<p>The site is free, anonymous and confidential.<\/p>\n<p>Already visitors are noting the role <strong><em>TeenCentral.com <\/em><\/strong>can play in helping them weather this storm. As one user put it: <strong><em>\u201cI\u2019ve written in to TeenCentral recently about some things in my life. I did what u said and it helped! \u2026 thank y\u2019all for all the advice!
