Public television reaches over 12.4 million Pennsylvanians serving large, diverse, rural and underserved audiences. PBS39 alone reaches 3.28 million of those Pennsylvanians.<\/p>\n
Through this partnership, free, learning-at-home resources are available from all seven stations in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth at learningathomepa.org<\/u><\/a>. The site includes PBS39\u2019s Lehigh Valley Learns<\/u><\/i><\/a>, which launched this week.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough 50 plus years of public broadcasting, PBS has provided a unique platform for the educational challenges we are facing right now. Through a strong partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and Pennsylvania\u2019s six other public television stations, we are fulfilling PBS39\u2019s mission to provide students with the best learning opportunities available,\u201d said Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Public Media.<\/p>\n In addition to public broadcasting resources, the Pennsylvania Department of Education has announced up to $5 million in state funding for equity grants so schools can purchase computer equipment, such as laptops, tablets and internet hot spots, or use towards providing instructional materials such as paper lessons and coursework.
