Series, which kicks off with Craig Thatcher performance, is designed to keep families & supporters connected while school\u2019s building is closed.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

ALLENTOWN, PA–When Craig Thatcher\u00a0learned his performance as part of Mercy School For Special Learning\u2019s \u201c<\/b>Little Really Big Show\u201d fundraiser on June 2 was postponed, he knew he still wanted to assist the Allentown-based school for students with special needs. Now, the iconic Valley artist will be the first performer \u2018taking the stage\u2019 as part of Mercy School\u2019s new weekly virtual series, \u201cMercy Mondays,\u201d kicking off April 20, 7 p.m., at ArtsQuest@Home<\/a>. The inaugural performance will feature music by Thatcher, performances by Mercy School students and other surprises.<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

\u201cSince we were forced to reschedule our second annual\u00a0\u2018Little Really Big Show\u2019 to March 2021, we wanted to stay connected with friends and donors. \u00a0The \u2018Mercy Mondays\u2019 series is our answer,\u201d says Mercy School Principal Beth Grys. \u201cCOVID-19 may have closed our building,\u00a0but our school is open. \u00a0The\u00a0students are\u00a0being engaged academically through the distance-learning\u00a0diligence of our incredible Mercy School faculty. \u00a0Mercy Mondays is our gift back to the Mercy family, because our\u00a0students value their fellowship and support more than ever, especially now that human connection has never been more important.\u201d<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

Mercy Mondays will take place 7 p.m. on April 20, 27 and May 4 and 11; the school will announce upcoming performer information via its website, mercyschool.org<\/a>, and social media.\u00a0Everyone who tunes in to the webcasts will have the opportunity to support Mercy School students by making a financial gift during or after the show via a link on the show page. Funds raised will go toward the school\u2019s scholarship fund, lunch program and more.<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

The Mercy Mondays series is made possible through ArtsQuest,\u00a0Air Products and ASR Media. The Little Really Big Show concert originally set for June has been rescheduled to March 11, 2021 at the Musikfest Caf\u00e9 at SteelStacks.<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
