LEHIGH VALLEY, PA (May 6, 2020)<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0The Chamber is in the ring swinging back with a pool of funding to immediately help small businesses who were hit hard by the COVID-19 stay at home order.<\/p>\n

While everyone is doing their part to stop the spread of the virus, businesses are getting knocked off their feet.\u00a0Some of our small businesses establishments are salons, retail or other service providers that cannot offer takeout and can\u2019t operate remotely, but the bills continue their assault.<\/p>\n

In April, The Chamber Foundation mailed more than 300 checks totaling\u00a0over\u00a0$350,000 to small businesses On Every Main Street in the Valley.\u00a0Thanks to our friends at Wells-Fargo we were able to continue the fight into Round 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Wells Fargo, we know that small businesses are the backbone of the local community,\u201d says Ivon Creagh, Wells Fargo Region President for Greater Pennsylvania. \u201cParticipating in this fund is one way that we can support this vital part of the Lehigh Valley economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony Iannelli said \u201cIt\u2019s unbelievable how much these companies and individuals want to help.\u00a0We have a big footprint, but our community is tight knit.\u00a0Matching investment from BB&T, now Truist, Capital BlueCross, Equinox Benefits Consulting, ESSA Bank, David Jaindl, Dynegy, Walmart\/Sams Club,\u00a0Wells Fargo,\u00a0Nelligan, Unum and individuals like Lehigh student, Angelica Benares along with The Chamber funds have made this all possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople who are able really want to make a difference, whether it is buying\u00a0restaurant\u00a0gift cards online,\u00a0ordering takeout,\u00a0donating blood, or sewing masks, everyone is doing what they can. We\u2019re in this together \u2013 and we\u2019ll get back together!\u201d Iannelli said.<\/p>\n
