{"id":101343,"date":"2020-06-16T17:17:58","date_gmt":"2020-06-16T21:17:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=101343"},"modified":"2020-06-16T17:17:58","modified_gmt":"2020-06-16T21:17:58","slug":"national-museum-of-industrial-history-offers-free-family-memberships-to-hospital-employees-through-pay-it-forward-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=101343","title":{"rendered":"National Museum of Industrial History offers free family memberships to hospital employees through \u2018Pay It Forward\u2019 campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">BETHLEHEM, PA &#8211; The National Museum of Industrial History (NMIH) is giving back to healthcare workers who have fought tirelessly to keep our community safe and healthy throughout the coronavirus pandemic through a newly announced \u2018Pay It Forward\u2019 membership campaign.\u00a0\u00a0Retroactive to March 14<sup>th<\/sup>, when the museum facility closed to visitors, until the museum reopens any new membership purchased\u00a0will allow the NMIH to provide an employee of St. Luke\u2019s University Health Network with a free one-year family membership.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u201cNon-profits across our region have faced challenges during the COVID-19 outbreak, particularly our frontline healthcare workers,\u201d said Kara Mohsinger, President and CEO of the Museum.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cTheir valiant efforts mitigated a situation that could have put the Lehigh Valley at a much greater risk.\u00a0\u00a0This program is the least we can do to thank them and provide their families with a fun and educational outlet once we\u2019re able to welcome visitors through our doors again.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u201cOur St. Luke\u2019s health care heroes sincerely appreciate the outpouring of support they have received during the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d said Patrick Bower, Vice President of Development at St. Luke\u2019s University Health Network.\u00a0 \u201cWe also realize so many of our museums and non-profit organizations are struggling right now and we wish the NMIH much success on their membership drive.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Memberships to the National Museum of Industrial History begin at $35 for individuals (discounted to $25 for students, teachers, military\/veterans, and seniors) and include unlimited free admission for one year, among other benefits.\u00a0\u00a0Contributing level memberships allow reciprocal admission to over 800 museums and cultural institutions across North America.
