{"id":101430,"date":"2020-06-23T22:50:37","date_gmt":"2020-06-24T02:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=101430"},"modified":"2020-06-23T22:50:37","modified_gmt":"2020-06-24T02:50:37","slug":"community-invited-to-participate-in-musikfest-postcard-art-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=101430","title":{"rendered":"Community Invited to Participate in Musikfest Postcard Art Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BETHLEHEM, PA\u2014Even though everyone can\u2019t get together in person for Musikfest this year, festival presenter ArtsQuest\u00a0is inviting the community to be part of the 2020 event in a very creative way \u2013 the \u201cSee You Soon\u201d postcard public art project.\u00a0\u00a0<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Individuals can download an official Musikfest 2020 postcard template on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bananafactory.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/10\/Postcard-template_6x9in.pdf\">Banana Factory website<\/a> or create their own postcard using paper, cardstock or cardboard as long as it fits standard postcard dimensions of 3.5\u201dx5\u201d or 6\u201dx9\u201d. Participants can even submit an altered vintage\/found postcard of their choice.<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Participants are asked to create their own \u2018masterpiece\u2019 on the postcards for an exhibit to be shown digitally and placed on display in the Banana Factory windows during Musikfest July 31-Aug. 9. Individuals are encouraged to focus their artwork around Musikfest and the places, people and events that make the Lehigh Valley special; messages written on the back of the postcards are also encouraged but not required.<\/p>\n<p>All submissions must either be postmarked by July 27 or dropped off at the Banana Factory Arts Center, 25 W. Third St., on one of the dates and times listed below:<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>July 20 and 21, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>July 24 and 25, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Individuals who drop off their artwork must call 610-332-1327 when they arrive and an ArtsQuest staff person will meet them at the front doors of the Banana Factory. \u00a0<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Once received, postcards will be scanned and digitized for an online exhibition to open July 31, as well as displayed in the Crayola Gallery windows on Third Street July 31-Aug. 9. This year\u2019s festival will\u00a0include 40 concerts shown via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musikfest.org\/\">Musikfest.org<\/a>\u00a0as part of Virtual Musikfest, 40 performances by bands performing live from the Service Electric TV studios (and re-aired on Musikfest.org) and an on-site food and beverage experience at SteelStacks that will include at least 10 Musikfest favorite food vendors.
